Children learn through playing together in a happy, friendly and secure environment and our development programme at head start has been structured to ensure that appropriate amounts of time are spent on a progressive range of activities and experiences that will prepare your child for the smooth transition to school.

Children need plenty of free play and this will be encouraged with the introduction of group activities in each age range through a key-worker system. Children will be allowed to express themselves through a wide range of media and activities exploring different themes.

An on-going record and assessment of your child’s progress is created and this is available for you to see and discuss with Nursery staff. Also, a quarterly newsletter is published to keep parents up to date with Nursery activities and projects.

Our pre-school curriculum at head start for 3 to 5 year olds is structured to encapsulate current objectives in early years education and development and will provide the ‘head start’ that they deserve in preparation for entering into a formal school environment.
